Installing Moseycode 0.1.1

Below are instructions that will help you successfully install Moseycode into an Android emulator.

Installing The Application

  1. Download and install version m3-rc37a of the Android SDK.
  2. Download the Android package file for Moseycode version 0.1.1 moseycode-0.1.1.apk.
  3. Within your Android installation directory type:
    tools/adb install path-to-apk
    where path-to-apk points to the .apk file downloaded in the previous step.
  4. Restart the emulator (this may or may not be necessary). The Moseycode application should now be available under the Applications icon in the Home application.
  5. Launching Moseycode will present the main selection activity. From here you should open the Settings activity and customize the Moseycode application for your system. If you attempting to scan a barcode without having opened the Settings activity, it will be automatically opened for you.

Configuring The Application

It is possible to access the Moseycode settings at any time, either from the launch screen or by opening the menu in the barcode scanning view. To use Moseycode interactively requires a webcam, and software to broadcast images from the webcam. The settings allow you to specify the address at which the webcam software is serving images.

Installing the Launch Demo

This release of Moseycode includes an application that demonstrates how to launch Moseycode from other Android applications. Use the instructions below if you need guidance on installing and using the application.

  1. Download the Android package file for the "Moseycode Harness" moseycode-harness.apk.
  2. Within your Android installation directory type:
    tools/adb install path-to-apk
    where path-to-apk points to the .apk file downloaded in the previous step.
  3. Restart the emulator. The Moseycode harness should now be available under the Applications icon in the Home application.
  4. Launching the harness should present you with a list of options for launching Moseycode.
